Letter Title: “The Holy Qur’an – A Perfect Book”
Books are gaining popularity in quarantine, but one always gets more love in my house and the homes of Muslims across the world; the Holy Quran. What makes it live up to its name as the most widely read book? It’s recited these days by more than two billion Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan, “the month…in which the Qur’an was sent down as a guidance for mankind with clear proofs of guidance and distinction…” (2:186)
It teaches the unifying truth that many sacred Scriptures and Messengers were sent to different people throughout history all over the world by the same God. Its revolutionary truths predated the Big Bang theory and inspired scientific breakthroughs like the electroweak theory, its universal laws reformed nations and framed constitutions like America’s, and its poetic verses accurately disclosed unfathomable realities from black holes to our novel modes of communication. Most of all, it calls on me to benefit my siblings as a limb of humanity.
Messiah Ahmad, founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, summed up perfectly, “There is no truth that lies outside it. There is no wisdom that is not comprised in it. There is no light that is not obtainable through following it. These things are not without proof and are not mere words. It is an established and clearly proved verity which has been shining through 1300 years” (Brahin-e-Ahmadiyya).
I invite my neighbors to read that preserved miracle that descended on that immaculate orphan, the “Seal of Prophets” and “Divine mercy sent to all”, the Prophet Muhammad.
